THE COUPLE
Gabriel & Sharvell met at a concert. Their friends were off dancing and Sharvell remembers Gabriel coming up to her and introducing himself as “Hi, my name is Gabriel and I’m from Mexico. Do you come to these things often?” He asked for her number but she was sceptical having just gotten out of a relationship. It’s a good thing her name is super unique because Gabriel ended up finding her on Facebook that same night and they ended up messaging back and forth, literally… until the sun came up.
For their first date, Gabriel had bought tickets for the Kings of Leon concert which was the night after Sharvell had landed back home from a 2-week vacation. She was super jet lagged but thought it was so sweet of him having planned a concert as their first official date since they met at a concert. He took her for dinner first and she just remembers instantly feeling super nervous being face to face even though they had Skyped nearly every night while she was away. As Sharvell said, “In front of me was this insanely handsome man unlike anyone I’ve ever dated and to this day, he continues to take my breath away.”
THE SESSION
This unique and very playful lifestyle session was truly special for me as I’ve always been looking to do an in-home shoot like this, but did not want to rush until I had all the little pieces come together! All the collaboration including Sharvell and Gabriel who helped me put some of the finishing touches on the space. With the decor help from Salvage + Bronze and her unique Himmeli art, the beautiful blanket ladder from Nash and Mccoy, custom handmade hat by Black Tulip Hats , a few macrame pieces from FLBER and my unique carved skull from Skull Bliss this set was brought together beautifully and in my eyes, it couldn’t be more perfect!
